Compass Design was Founded in January 2020 but originally was called Archistate Designs was founded in Nottingham in 2010 and has since combined with another architectural practise South Bound, sharing our work and allowing a larger span of design opportunities and now are called Compass Designs within the firm we have 8 talented designers and professionals who believe in creating inspirational projects.

Ethos
At compass designs, we build the bridge that brings sustainability and community together. Our goal is to create affordable, modern housing that has a positive impact on society. Through the work of our fantastic innovative workforce, we aim to improve the quality of living for those we accommodate; uniquely tailoring each project to our client’s request.
What do we specialise in?
We specialise in sustainable housing and small commercial buildings. We have the natural skill of creating comfortable community-based areas, along with the integration of biophilic design, which creates a pleasant environment.

Prior to the merger, we partook in dozens of projects. This includes residential housing, passivhaus Healthcare centres, Outdoor street food complex centres and many more. Considering the growth of our team we will be able to carry out larger scale commercial projects.
What strategy do we have?
Our strategy is to follow closely with client requests as well as sticking to our own ethos, resulting in happy clients and a happy workforce.
We also plan to use networking and social media to further the reach of our company to potential clients across the UK.

We are also striving to construct all our buildings with zero carbon emission. As well as having our housing we plan to achieve:
· Improving the thermal efficiency of the walls, windows, and roof as far as practically possible
· Reducing air permeability to the minimum consistent with health requirements
· Using low and zero carbon technologies such as solar thermal panels, biomass boilers, wind turbines, and combined heat and power systems (CHP)
